Watch First Aid Kit Cover Jack White On ‘Like A Version’

Sisterly folk duo First Aid Kit, who recently played Byron Bay’s Splendour In The Grass, have performed a sterling cover of Jack White’s Love Interruption live on triple j‘s Like A Version covers program. Love Interruption is taken from White’s debut solo album Blunderbuss, which was released in 2012.

Prior to performing their Jack White cover (below), Swedish sisters Johanna and Klara Söderberg joined triple j hosts Matt Okine and Alex Dyson for an impromptu acapella cover of Tribute, a song made famous by the Jack Black-fronted rock group Tenacious D.

The sisters then shifted their focus from Jack Black to Jack White, telling Okine and Dyson that White had previously called them out of the blue to ask, “Do you wanna come to my studio and record a single with me tomorrow?”

The sisters, of course, obliged. “It was really weird… You can’t take photos in his studio, it’s very secretive,” they told Okine and Dyson, before comparing White to Willy Wonka. First Aid Kit have toured in support of Jack White in the past.

First Aid Kit also performed their own song My Silver Lining, which is taken from their most recent album Stay Gold, live on triple j. Watch that performance alongside their Jack White cover, below, and catch up on what went down during the duo’s Splendour sideshows with photos and full review right here.
