Watch Matt Healy From The 1975 Cover ‘Sex’ With Dashboard Confessional

The 1975 frontman Matt Healy teamed up with Dashboard Confessional overnight to cover the 1975 track ‘Sex’. Healy joined them at London’s St Pancras Old Church.

Dashboard Confessional initially covered the track on their 2017 EP Covered and Taped. Healy and Dashboard’s Chris Carrabba paired up to surprise fans with a genuinely amazing, acoustic rendition of the track.

In 2012 ‘Sex’ was initially released as a single by The 1975 before appearing on their 2013 self-titled, debut album.

Matt Healy retweeted the clip from Rock Sound, adding “Peak emo”. He is not wrong. Watch the clip below.

Healy also expressed his love for My Chemical Romance overnight on Nick Grimshaw’s Radio 1 show.

“I’m not too happy about him [Gerard Way] coming back for his emo lord crown once I’ve announced myself as quite overtly being that. He’s gonna come back and try and claim it isn’t he? Emo grandad more like, Gerard, thank you, off you pop,” he joked after a fan asked whether they’d ever collab with MCR.

“No, I love My Chemical Romance. I don’t think we’d ever collab but I don’t see why not,” he clarified.

You can watch the clip below. Matt Healy also very subtly revealed there were a few collabs on the upcoming album too — exciiiiting.

In case you missed it, My Chemical Romance announced their reunion last Friday. They were then announced as headliners at Australia’s Download Festival.
