Watch Ryan Adams Cover The Entirety Of Rolling Stones’ ‘Exile On Main Street’ In New Orleans

Ryan Adams has taken to the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans for Jazz Fest to perform the entirety of The Rolling Stones‘ iconic record Exile On Main Street.

The event, ‘Exile on Bourbon Street’, saw Adams perform the entire album song-for-song, with longtime Rolling Stones producer Don Was on bass, the Neville Brothers’ Cyril Neville on percussion, Medeski Martin & Wood’s John Medeski on the keys and guitarist Todd Wisenbaker helping Adams out on backing vocals, while also playing the solos, Stereogum reports.

Adams gave himself complete creative licence when covering the songs, transforming some of them into huge jam sessions stretching over 10 minutes in length. He also didn’t perform ‘Sweet Black Angel’, but did perform ‘Can’t You Hear Me Knocking’ and ‘Sway’ from Sticky Fingers.

This isn’t the first time that Adams has taken to covering an entire album. In 2015, he infamously released a cover album of Taylor Swift’s ubiquitous 1989.
