The sun rose hot and angry on the morning of the 4th of January, the day of the inaugural Days Like This! music festival. With a stellar line-up including Public Enemy, Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Atmosphere, Flying Lotus and Platinum Pied Pipers, the air was tense with the anticipation of over 4,000 people, and not one was disappointed.
The atmosphere was very relaxed as the crowd, one of the most interesting and varied I’ve ever seen, relaxed and enjoyed the fine music on offer. Moving from the chilled out and green garden stage to the bright and sun soaked main stage through to the dark and sweaty Forum stage, it really felt like three distinct environments in which to enjoy the music, with each offering their own sonic delicacies on which to gorge oneself, and gorge I did.
But why believe me, have a look through our exclusive backstage shots….
