Adam Cohen, son of singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen, has announced a set of Australian shows in support of his fifth studio album, We Go Home. Following a recent interview with Music Feeds, Cohen treated us to a stripped-back acoustic performance of the album’s title track, backed by two of his bandmates, at Sydney’s Bondi Bowling Club.
Complete with plenty of foot tapping, Cohen’s performance of We Go Home allowed his smooth vocals to come to the forefront, backed only by two guitars and two additional voices. Without the piano and polished studio production, the performance captures the fleeting moment of performance in an intimate setting.
In his recent interview, Cohen told Music Feeds he sees the power of music in the way it can “imprint a moment”. “You know that summer that you had where that was that one song playing, or that love scene in a movie that was particularly marking because of the soundtrack? I want to be for others what music was for me,” Cohen said.
Adam Cohen’s We Go Home album was released in September. The singer-songwriter will return to Australia for a set of performances in March 2015. Visit Adam Cohen’s Facebook page for all the tour details.
