ANOHNI – ‘Crisis’

Following an incredible video for Drone Bomb Me featuring Naomi Campbell, ANOHNI has dropped another video this time for Control off her latest record HOPELESSNESS.

This one is another intimate video this time featuring NYC performer Storm Lever and it addresses a complicated subject of the “atrocities” the US has committed in the Middle East.

“De-escalation cannot occur until we truly account for what the United States has done. I wanted to model what that might look like on a personal level as an American citizen,” ANOHNI wrote in a statement about the song.

“There is an unspoken sense that the atrocities our country has committed in the Middle East are too grave to really acknowledge or account for. And yet for peace to really take hold, there is no other road forward.”

The short and succinct lyrics critique the US for exacerbating and provoking the current global crisis.

It’s a politically-charged, powerful song that comes with a simple but emotionally profound visual.
