Otto and Kidd from post-rock outfit sleepmakeswaves were in fine spirits on the ARIA 2014 red carpet, perhaps buoyed by the fact that their album Love Of Cartography was up for Best Hard Rock And Heavy Metal Album.
“This feels a bit weird for us,” they told Music Feeds’ Mike Hohnen. “This feels like it was never part of the plan.” While the band have in fact “ARIA’d” once before, in 2012, they believe they’re “ARIAing better this year” mainly because this year they brought along a vibrating mouse toy.
“It is really nice to be up there alongside all the other nominees. There are some huge, amazing names.” The Best Hard Rock And Heavy Metal Album ARIA eventually went to DZ Deathrays for their 2014 release Black Rat.
