Melbourne’s very own rock’n’roll queen, Ella Hooper, took some time out to play an intimate Music Feeds LIVE session in Music Feeds Studio recently. Joined by fellow singer-songwriter Jack Colwell, Hooper performed the sultry, slow-moving track Haxan, backed by a talented three-piece band.
Musing over love and loss on Haxan, Hooper’s music takes a slightly darker turn before rising into a hook-laden chorus with a heavy-set rock backing. The track’s rise and fall is mirrored by Hooper’s vocals, illustrating her impressive vocal range.
After announcing the forthcoming release of her debut solo album In Tongues in February, Hooper embarked on a mammoth tour. She also toured in July in support of her most recent In Tongues single, The Red Shoes. Hooper has also been named as the official ambassador for Melbourne Bank and its Melbourne Music Bank competition.
