Following on from the release of her stunning new album Supercry (which our reviewer called “grand and graceful throughout”), one of Australia’s most exciting young singer/song-writers, Emma Louise, has this week released the music video for uplifting gem West End Kids.
Teaming up once again with Sydney-based director Dylan Duclos, the new vid sees Emma as a cult-like figurehead, but with much less poisoned punch and much more joyous group dance breaks aka my kind of cult.
“I wanted to create an eerie experience for West End Kids,” says Dylan. “Everything from the location, to the movements of actors, to the costumes and make-up had to give off a cult-like or uniformed atmosphere. The idea is that Emma is some sort of Master or Puppeteer over the 8 kids who live a dull and monotonous life inside her mansion. At any moment, she has the power to take over their bodies.”
Emma kicks off her national tour this October, grab all the dates and deets here.
