Interview: Ella Hooper Talks Debut Album ‘In Tongues’

Following her exclusive live-streamed performance from Music Feeds Studio as part of Music Feeds LIVE, Melburnian singer-songwriter and multi-talented media personality Ella Hooper talked album details with Music Feeds‘ very own Mike Hohnen.

Hooper’s long-awaited debut album In Tongues is currently set for a mid-September release, with Hooper herself describing it as “experiments in sound and texture”. “It’s a quite dark record in spots,” Hooper says. “It’s about transition and changing and the metamorphosis that you go through when you leave your late 20s into your early 30s.”

Hooper’s Music Feeds LIVE performance featured the latest single to be taken from In Tongues, The Red Shoes, as well as Haxan and Low High. Hooper was joined by a talented three-piece band for the performances.

After announcing the forthcoming release of her debut solo album In Tongues in February, Hooper embarked on a mammoth tour. She also toured in July in support of The Red Shoes.
