Interview: Sola Rosa At Bigsound 2012

Enjoying the spring Brissy sun and warmth, NZ based hip hop, reggae, jazz, Latin, soul and a whole lotta funk outfit Sola Rosa stopped by BIGSOUND for their first return to our shores since 2010.

The band has just wrapped up their latest album Low & Behold, High & Beyond, and are currently in Australia touring in support of the album. The process for this one took a little longer than expected. Making the most of two summers, the band simply took their time putting together the release. Though they can write in winter, the music is somewhat darker, so the joy, brightness and cheer brought with summer make it the optimum time to write music, hence the long gap.

With the ability to effortlessly and perfectly translate their music to a live setting, Sola Rosa chat about their up-and-coming tour dates. With slotting in a performance at BIGSOUND Live, the gang will be making their way south, though not before taking a much needed week off to spend time with the fam.
