Interview: White Arrows On MFTV, Sydney 2012

We caught up with Mickey Church and Andrew Naeve from US band White Arrows as they took some time out of their schedule to chat about their tour to Australia.

Compared to live performances in the States, the band felt like audiences were really up for a good time, adding that Jinja Safari also brought in a party crowd to the gigs.

Given it was White Arrows’s first trip Down Under, the band were surprised by the support from Australian audiences.

“The fact that anyone would know about us is a trippy scenario considering it’s a place we’ve never been, you know, even on vacation. We don’t know anyone here, so it’s all by ways of new technology.”

The band are currently feeling confident that listeners will enjoy their newly released album “Dry Land Is Not a Myth.”

“The EP was pretty short; it was like a 3-song EP and they were all songs that were going to end up on the full-length record. So if anything, the fact that it garnered excitement was just an indication of what the record was going to bring.”

Not a band to rest on the laurels, White Arrows have announced a stack of North American tour dates.
