Meet Prince’s New Protege – Delilah

Our senior Music Feeds TV Reporter Patrick Abboud caught up with Delilah ahead of her first show with Prince in Sydney. When the love symbol himself picks up the phone and personally calls a 21-year-old girl from Hackney asking her to support him on his Australian tour, then you know she’s one to watch. Soon after signing to Atlantic Records in the UK, Delilah (aka Paloma Stoeker) released her first single Go in September 2011 – a reworking of the seminal 80’s hit Aint Nobody that Chaka Khan made famous. Ms Khan herself deemed Delilah’s version of the song as being “genius”.

We haven’t heard much about the self-descirbed ‘quirky soul/pop’ singer since – other than that she’s done a fair bit of touring doing vocals on tracks she wrote with dubstep heavyweights Chase & Status. But with Prince putting her on to warm up his crowds and a new album of her own set for release late July, this young ladette is well set for a massive Pop Life.
