Nocturnal Sunshine – ‘Believe’

Maya Jane Coles has just served up her first album under the alter-ego of Nocturnal Sunshine and she’s taking a decisively dark, creepy route on this project.

Believe is the second single from the LP and it features the brooding, melancholic vocals of Chelou. It’s accompanied by a creepy video that sees the lyrics mimed by a poker-faced young girl.

The girl is flooded by illuminated, strobing projections helping to carry-out the whole after-dark, horror film vibe.

Scary as it may be, it’s a stimulating visual, expertly crafted by the husband-wife duo of artist Ben Ashton and photographer/director Fiona Garden.

The music video is in-line with the rest of the album which serves up haunting, sparse electronic arrangements alongside howling, hollow vocals.

Nocturnal Sunshine is out now.
