Saosin – ‘Control And The Urge To Pray’

The return of Anthony Green to Saosin for the first time since the group’s 2003 self-titled debut album continues to be one of the greatest things to happen in alternative music in recent memory. Today, the group released a single / video combo with the brand new track

In classic Saosin fashion, Control And The Urge To Pray chops and changes between gentle swells to savage white wash – testament to the vocal talents of Green. The clip is a simple performance edit featuring the foursome, leaving it to the music

Speaking of Control And The Urge To Pray, Chris Sorenson bassist told Billboard: “This was a song that we knew we had to see through. The demo started off very differently and we were unsure if it would fit into the way the record was shaping. But once vocals were demoed and a few things were moved around we knew that it was something very powerful.”

This is the third single from the band since reenlisting Green and putting him front and centre. So far we’ve heard The Silver String and Racing Toward a Red Light. All three tracks will feature on the forthcoming full-length album Along The Shadow which drops Friday, May 20.
