Speaking to Music Feeds from the festival, lead-guitarist Jack Barakat responded to a question regarding the chances of another Australian tour this year saying, “I don’t wanna spoil anything yet but I’m just going to say this, we love touring Australia”. When prodded by MF about a possible winter tour the band responded, “might happen.”
The band has a good history with Australia. They’ve been down-under seven times over their career and Soundwave 2015 is one of their first shows since taking eight months off touring to write and record Future Hearts.
“It’s super high energy,” Barakat said of the album adding,” It’s All Time Low on steroids.” “It’s trying to push a little further ahead rather than doing the same thing over and over again,” said bassist Zack Merrick. According to the boys, Joel Madden from Good Charlotte and Mark Hoppus of Blink-182 will feature on the album. Hoppus features on Barakat’s “favourite song on the album” Tidal Waves.
