Stone Sour (Corey Taylor) – ‘House of Gold & Bones, Pt 2′ – ‘Blue Smoke’ / ‘Do Me a Favor’ / ‘The Conflagration’
Interview by Marc Zanotti
Collectively coined as ‘The Trilogy’ songs Blue Smoke, Do Me a Favor and The Conflagration each function as a character piece before Stone Sour’s House of Gold & Bones – Part 2 reaches its epic conclusion.
As Corey Taylor explains, each part of ‘The Trilogy’ represents a different main character. Blue Smoke represents The Human, Do Me a Favor is Allen’s last grasp of influence, and The Conflagration is Peckinpah.
Being previously described as the ‘Yoda‘ character, Taylor associated Peckinpah with The Conflagration (which means an extensive destructive fire) to invoke the myth of the Phoenix, where from destruction comes rebirth.
Corey Taylor came into Music Feeds Studio to break down Stone Sour’s House of Gold & Bones – Part 2 track by track. Feeds will be releasing the interviews all week, giving fans an insight into the complex narrative and thought process behind House of Gold & Bones.
