Texture Like Sun – Bottle

New Music Video from Texture Like Sun’s forthcoming debut album Bottle, due in 2012. Recorded over the course of a year in both Darwin and Melbourne, Bottle was produced by Countbounce (TZU’s Pip Norman) who has previously worked with Urthboy and Ash Grunwald.

The video for Bottle was shot in four quick takes over the course of an afternoon by fellow musician and friend Cesar Rodriguez (Blue King Brown).

It probably doesn’t sound like a compliment to say that a song sounds like an argument, but in the case of Bottle from Melbourne’s Texture Like Sun, it’s an oddly apt description and far from a slur.

An elegant meditation on the games we play with ourselves through the course of addiction, whether it be to alcohol, drugs or love, the internal arguments are universal. With each line comes another layer of sound, from a melodic phrase to a distant harmony until the song reaches its crescendo – like the arguments it replicates, the concluding blow is both stunning and revelatory.
