Music Feeds Studio was recently graced by the powerful presence of Sydney’s favourite pop-minded alt-rockers, The Jezabels, who came in to share a few choice selections from their latest album, this year’s well-received The Brink. One of our favourites was their rendition of single The End, which had frontwoman Hayley Mary‘s vocals taking on a soulful, almost country-like cadence, complimenting a soundbed of rolling drums and sharp guitar chords.
We also managed to get the incredibly busy outfit to sit down for a few minutes with our very own Mike Hohnen, who asked the band about their then-upcoming set at Groovin The Moo. “That festival’s genius… And regional crowds are always some of our favourites,” said Hayley.
“People are just stoked that you’re there. There’s a lot of universities around these places,” said guitarist Samuel Lockwood. “People are just stoked that you’re out there, that’s the general vibe. It doesn’t matter what sort of band you are, everyone’s there and loves music so it’s really cool.”
