Melbourne indie rockers Oh Mercy have unveiled the dreamy music video for Sandy, the first single to be lifted from their forthcoming and yet-untitled new album.
Directed by Roma D’Arrietta, the Sandy video captures a Lynchian funeral scene while playing with imagery of both happiness and sadness.
“Making the Sandy music video was a blast,” says Oh Mercy’s Alex Gow. “It was a pleasure to work with such talented and passionate young people. The dancing girls are adorned with 100% polyester, pink and peach 70’s dresses.
“They did a fine job of pulling a Lazarus, leaping out of their coffin for a little Kate Bush inspired boogie. It’s pink, real pink. Pink is my favourite colour,” Gow adds. “Sandy makes an appearance too. I can see her. Cause I loves her. Mmmmmmhmmmm”
Oh Mercy have headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne lined up for April 2015. For more information, visit the Oh Mercy website.
