WATCH: Taking Back Sunday – ‘Flicker, Fade’

Amityville post-hardcore outfit Taking Back Sunday‘s new album, Happiness Is, is slated for release Friday, 21st March through UNFD/Hopeless Records and the band have now unveiled the lead single from the highly-anticipated sixth LP, Flicker, Fade.

“”We haven’t made a video in a while and we didn’t want to overthink it so we connected with some creative folks and said ‘remember when music videos could just be about a song?’” said frontman Adam Lazzara about the process behind the video.

“We found a cool location that we feel matched the mood of Flicker, Fade and made a performance video that showcased the song itself,” continued Lazzara. “The result was exactly what we were chasing. No heavy story line to distract from the mood, just a moment in time to live inside the music we created.”

Happiness Is marks the first time since the band’s 2002 debut, Tell All Your Friends, that the band has produced a record without input from a label. The band have slipped back into an autonomous mode of operation seamlessly, with the album set to be one of their most dynamic and progressive records yet.
