Watch: Tuka – ‘Nirvana’

Australian hip hop artist and songwriter Tuka, also one third of Thundamentals, has today revealed the video for Nirvana the first single to be taken from his forthcoming solo album Life Death Time Eternal.

The clip shifts between different points of views, exploring the scene from the camera’s perspective and then steps back to show what’s happening from another angle.

Tuka himself says the clips is reminiscent of work by Twin Peak‘s director David Lynch. “For me, the clip reflects one of the lyrics in the song really well: ‘You can make up what you take up from it’,” he explains.

Tuka wants viewers to interpretation the video’s meaning for themselves, while reflecting on the meaning of the word “Nirvana”. Of the song’s place on the record, Tuka says it helps balance the more dense elements of what is “a very broad and genre blending album”.

Life Death Time Eternal is due out mid 2015.
