The Blokes Behind ‘The Betoota Advocate’ Have Announced Their First-Ever Live Tour

The two masterminds behind Australia’s oldest newspaper satirical news website The Betoota Advocate have announced their first-ever live tour, heading around Australia later this year.

Clancy Overell and Errol Parker (not their real names) will perform in 13 cities between November and December, hitting Townsville, Darwin, Toowoomba, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, Wollongong, Newcastle, Perth, Melbourne, Hobart, Adelaide and Canberra, before finishing up at up the Sydney Opera House.

The tour will be the first time The Betoota Advocate and its eye-catching headlines are brought to life on stage, with Overell and Parker ready to tell audiences how they’ve kept the business afloat.

“Since our transition into digital media in 2014, we’ve garnered this cult-like following around the country and we felt it time to head out on the road to share the story with everyone,” says Overell.

“It should be good, I’m looking forward to it,” says Parker.

The 90-minute shows will supposedly see Overell and Parker (and a “very special guest”, still to be announced) outline the origins of The Betoota Advocate.
