PREMIERE: E For Echo Drop Indie-Pop Party-Starter ‘Let Your Hair Down’

Sydney indie rock co-eds E For Echo have ripped off the proverbial elastic on their second single, ‘Let Your Hair Down’.

The disco-drum-fuelled party-starter was inspired by a long-running open mic night hosted by stereo-blonde frontwomen Jenna Murphy and Zana Rose, and their experience with a particular muso named Sam, who never missed a night.

The gals watched Sam’s confidence grow in terms of both his performance, personality and even physical appearance — explaining that “each week he began to dress, little by little, more ‘femininely’; think dark red lipstick, hoop earrings, flowing skirts, and glossy white heels” — as the sessions unfolded, until eventually, he came right out of his shell and ~let his hair down~.

The tune was produced by Ross James (Vera Blue, Chet Faker), mixed by Simon Berckelman (Philadelphia Grand Jury, Architecture in Helsinki) and mastered by Grammy Award-winning Joe LaPorta (David Bowie, Foo Fighters) at Sterling Studios in New York, and arrives following the group pulling off a number of sold-out live performances across Sydney and showcasing at Australian Music Week 2017.

This one goes out to you, Sam.

‘Let Your Hair Down’ is out Friday, November 24th. E For Echo’s EP is expected in 2018.
