Billy Corgan Deletes Twitter, Starts A Website Called ‘People And Their Cars’

The Smashing PumpkinsBilly Corgan is now the proud owner of a website with the most literal name on the world wide web – People And Their Cars.

As you could probably guess by the name it is literally a website full of vintage pictures of people with their cars plus the occasional unrelated photo for good measure.

The website is made up of, “Pictures (mostly Vernacular), design elements (found), and ephemera with smatterings of Art (conscious),” according to the People And Their Cars ‘Wherefore’ section.

As Consequence Of Sound point out, Corgan’s move into web publishing comes after he deleted Twitter. “After mulling this for awhile, I’m deleting this account,” he wrote in his penultimate tweet. “So many thanks to those that have followed.”

If you’ve checked out the website and decide that you need to stay completely on top of it, you can join The Red Border Club by plugging in your email. It gives you the chance to receive additional images, be the first in-line for new merchandise and also forthcoming books.

Right now, the merch page of the website includes key-rings, mugs and chai tea plus Smashing Pumpkins Monument To An Elegy on CD or vinyl.
