Birds of Tokyo recently announced an Australian tour taking place during February and March of next year. As reported by triple j, the tour will kick off just before the release of the band’s fourth studio album March Fires, which is due out in March 2013.
If you caught Birds of Tokyo’s headlining set at Homebake this weekend, then you would have heard a few of the new tracks from the upcoming album. Fortunately for fans, the Perth five-piece released the EP This Fire back in October to help bridge the gap between albums.
Shortly after the EP came out, Music Feeds caught up with frontman Ian Kenny and guitarist Adam Spark. The interview covered the new EP; recording the upcoming record in LA; having their studio invaded by The Beach Boys; and Spark’s tale of woe dealing with the American public health system.
Birds of Tokyo will be joined on the road by the J Award nominees Regular John. General tickets go on sale December 14.
