Cherry Rock 2016 Full Lineup Announced

Melbourne rock den Cherry Bar has dropped the lineup for the 2016 edition of its annual Cherry Rock festival.

The tenth Birthday instalment of Australia’s only dedicated rock n’ roll street festival will be headlined by returning Berlin rockers Kadavar and US rock veterans The Supersuckers, who join previously-announced international guest Richie Ramone (iconic drummer of The Ramones) at the top of the lineup.

A bunch of local acts are also packing out the first announcement, including Sydney’s Gay Paris and Polish Club, plus Melbourne stalwarts Power, Clowns, Dallas Frasca, Dead City Ruins, Mammoth Mammoth, Mesa Cosa and Devil Electric.

“Ten years under our belts and I firmly believe this is our best line-up ever,” said Cherry Bar owner James Young.

“Kadavar are my favourite band in the world and AC/DC Lane will grow a beard while these hairy Germans play. Supersuckers were born with a tail and will finally shake that tail in AC/DC Lane. And with locals such as Power, Clowns, Dead City Ruins and Dallas Frasca I know Melbourne’s CherryRock street rock n roll festival shall stand proudly beside the legendary Richie Ramone himself, together, too tough too die!”

The 2016 instalment of the festival will take place on Sunday, 1st May on the city’s iconic AC/DC Lane.
