After much concern, it’s been confirmed that Chan Marshall will be bringing her alter ego Cat Power to European Stages in the near future. The tour hung on a thread after it was revealed that Marshall was facing dire financial and health issues.
The songstress has taken to Twitter to break the good news, mentioning that despite both setbacks, the tour will still go ahead. She did, however, note that due to the restricted funds, there won’t be an elaborate stage set-up, and no massive gorilla in the background, but the shows are surely to be just as amazing.
Marshall revealed earlier this week that she was potentially facing bankruptcy and suffering from the skin condition Angioedema. She didn’t directly connect the two, but knowing the American health care system, they are probably directly related. Ms. Power also elaborated on the condition via Twitter today, stating that it affects her during times of great stress, and a low immune system.
It’s now all systems go for her locked in Aussie dates, which weren’t looking too good given the prior situation.
