The Ghost Inside Drummer Confirms Loss Of Leg After Fatal Bus Crash

The Ghost Inside drummer Andrew Tkaczyk has confirmed the loss of his right leg as a result of the fatal November bus crash which left all band members with serious injuries.

Posting to Instagram, Tkaczyk says he has “remained in positive and good spirits” since November, after waking up to the site of his missing leg following a 10-day coma.

“So the rumors are true everyone! Unfortunately I did lose my leg in this accident,” Tkaczyk says. “Not going to let it stop me. I don’t care what anyone says. It’s a long road ahead, but I WILL play drums again. Can’t wait to get back on the kit.”

Aside from losing his leg, Tkaczyk also suffered multiple fractures and torn ligaments. “[The leg] is one injury among many others such as fractures in my ribs, spine, and hip along with some ligament tears in my rotator cuff and Labrum,” he says.

“Couldn’t have dealt with this without the love and support from my brothers in TGI & crew, friends, fans and family. Thank you all.”

All five members of The Ghost Inside and members of their crew were injured when their tour bus collided with a semi-trailer outside El Paso in November. While the band survived, two drivers died in the collision.

In December, The Ghost Inside’s record label, Epitaph, announced plans to donate all profits from the band’s album sales to help pay their medical bills. Prior to that, Bring Me The Horizon also donated $10,000 to support the band’s recovery.
