Kele Fears His Bloc Party Days Are Numbered

Bloc Party frontman Kele Okereke has spoken to NME, revealing he feels his days in Bloc Party might be numbered. His fears come after catching the rest of the band in a recording session without his knowledge.

“I was actually having lunch about three weeks ago, just here on 8th Avenue, and I saw somebody walk past and I recognised the haircut,” he said. “It was Russell. I was like, ‘Hey!’ but he didn’t see me, and I followed him around the corner and then I saw Matt, Gordon and Russell all standing outside this rehearsal space. They all went inside.”

“I hope I haven’t been fired,” the singer told NME. “I don’t really know what’s going on, because we haven’t really spoken recently and I’m a bit too scared to ask.”

After making an appearance at Splendour in the Grass earlier this year, Kele is gearing up to release the follow-up EP The Hunter.
