Laneway Festival Silently Removes Kirin J Callinan From Its 2018 Lineup

Laneway Festival has quietly removed controversial musician Kirin J Callinan from its 2018 lineup, with zero explanation.

Organisers added 15 new acts to their lineup earlier this week, but they also removed Callinan without telling the public (or the media).

Callinan no longer appears on the Laneway Festival lineup poster, nor does he on the Laneway Festival website.

Callinan was added to the Laneway lineup back in November, a day before he caused controversy by flashing his penis at the ARIA Awards.

Laneway Festival has declined to comment, but triple j says it understands his removal from the lineup is due to the ARIA Awards incident. Music Feeds has contacted Kirin J Callinan for comment.

Callinan was Laneway Festival’s official emcee back in 2016, but is yet to speak publicly about the ARIA Awards controversy.

Laneway Festival is set to hit Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Fremantle in February.
