Leonard Cohen New Album In 2012

Written by John Ritchie on October 21, 2011

Leonard Cohen is planning to release a new album in 2012 titled Old Ideas. Speaking with Reuters while in Spain to collect his award for top authors who do not write in Spanish Cohen said:

I’ve played it for a few people, and they seem to like it.

When asked if he planed on touring again Cohen said:

God willing, I never quite know whether there’s going to be a tour or not.

He also spoke about the task of writing saying that even after all these years he still finds it difficult:

You know, when you’re writing, you’re always an absolute beginner. Each time you take up your guitar or sit by a blank page, you start from scratch. It’s a struggle.

Old Ideas will be Cohen’s first studio album since 2004’s Dear Heather and will contain 10 new tracks.
