Machine Head Bass Player Adam Duce Quits

Machine Head are on the hunt for a new bass player after Adam Duce quit the band in “amicable” circumstances.

A statement on the band’s official website revealed that despite Duce’s departure, the band are still going to press on with writing and creating their follow-up to 2011’s Unto the Locust. Here’s the official statement:

Machine Head and bassist Adam Duce have parted ways. The split is amicable, and Machine Head would like to wish Adam the best with his current and future endeavors. The band will continue on for the time being as a three-piece and have begun the writing process for their follow-up to 2011’s “Unto The Locust”. A late 2013 release is projected.

As Blabbermouth reports, Duce’s departure could have been on the cards for quite some time. Back in 2012, in an interview with Dutch outlet FaceCulture, Duce revealed that he’s contemplated quitting the band several times.

“I’ve thought about quitting on different occasions, but I mean, Robb’s thought about quitting on different occasions as well,” he said at the time.

“Dave [McClain, drums] actually quit the band. I can safely say everybody’s thought about quitting at one point or another.”
