Mos Def’s new album, The Ecstatic, will be available as a t-shirt. What?

The t-shirt, designed by LnA, has ‘cover art’ on the front and back. An attached tag has a download code and URL for the album. The Music Tee idea is a collaboration between the aforementioned LnA and music/fashion company Invisible DJ.

Santigold and Miike Snow, labelmates of Mos Def’s at Downtown Music, also have Music Tees on the way. It’s a pretty innovative way of distributing music. A physical product, yet digital music! Hopefully we’ll see more and more interesting ways to get music out there.
