Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have been embedded in the Australian music scene for over 30 years, and now the band has announced a best-of box set called Lovely Creatures.
It’s being billed as the most comprehensive overview of the band’s recorded work to date, focusing on a huge catalogue of music spanning from 1984 to 2014. Lovely Creatures takes in music from the band’s debut album From Her To Eternity through to their 15th; Push The Sky Away.
The box-set was compiled by Cave and founding member Mick Harvey, with other band members bringing together their own personal archives which have been put together into a book along with a series of essays.
“The songs we have chosen are the ones that have stuck around, for whatever reason,” said Cave in a statement. “Some songs are those that demand to be played live. Others are lesser songs that are personal favourites of ours. Others are just too big and have too much history to leave out.”
The set can be purchased as a standard CD, a triple LP or in several deluxe incarnations including a DVD and the book. Check out the full range of options available here.
