No One Is Really Sure Where The Hell Frank Ocean Is Says Chance The Rapper

Written by Sam Murphy on May 15, 2016

It’s been almost four years since Frank Ocean‘s iconic record Channel ORANGE and it’s about time we filed a missing person report.

His third record Boys Don’t Cry was expected to drop last year but it never came and since then everyone has been asking “where is Frank?”, including Chance The Rapper.

Chance apparently knows a little bit about what Frank is up to saying that he’s working on a “masterpiece” but even then he has no idea where he actually is.

“No one really is able to find Frank when Frank goes away,” he told Complex.

“Like, literally no one, not just publications. But I know he’s away, making a masterpiece.”

Ocean is apparently not working on anybody else’s music right now, choosing to focus on his own work.

“I think anything that you hear him on that’s a feature from anyone was recorded a long time ago,” Chance further said.

That would presumably include Ocean’s addition to Kanye’s track Wolves, released earlier this year. Ocean also co-wrote a handful of tracks on James Blake’s new album The Colour In Anything.

Despite working closely with Ocean there was very little that Blake could offer in terms of information about the album. He did say though, “He is onto something, he really is.”

So, there you go. Nobody knows where the hell Frank Ocean is but they seem to be pretty sure he’s working on something gold. Let’s just hope he comes out of hiding “masterpiece” in hand sooner rather than later.

In the meantime, Chance released his excellent third mixtape Coloring Book a few days ago which is well worth a listen.

Update 16/05/2016: Chance The Rapper has confirmed in a reddit AMA that he’ll be touring Australia soon, and that a collaboration with Childish Gambino does in fact exist.
