Origin NYE Will Bring Wiz Khalifa, A$AP Rocky & More To Perth

Written by Greg Moskovitch on September 12, 2013

The organisers of The Origin have unveiled a mega lineup for their New Year’s Eve 2013 event, announcing two of the biggest stars in hip-hop, Wiz Khalifa and A$AP Rocky as headliners for what Origin have described as one of their best rosters yet. Judging by the headliners alone, who could argue?

Origin began on New Year’s Eve ’07 when festival-goers were treated to sets by headliner TC & Jakes, as well as Noisia, Spor, Logistics and others. Since then, the event has turned into one of the biggest NYE parties in the country and has played host to sets by hip-hop and dance icons like Public Enemy, Method Man & Redman, Cassius, Ms. Dynamite and Bliss n Eso.

This year Perth is set to be levelled by performances from the likes of Wiz Khalifa, A$AP Rocky, Flux Pavilion, Kill The Noise, TC & Jakes, Julio Bashmore, Dusky, Rustie and many more, playing across three stages smack dab in the heart of the Perth CBD.

Committed to bringing you the biggest and best names in urban music, the organisers also revealed some big news via their official Facebook page yesterday. After the festival’s success at their Fairbridge location last year, The Origin will be expanding into two separate events featuring an inner-city Origin NYE party and a mid-year Origin camping festival taking place in Fairbridge village, with more details coming.

The Origin 2013 is set to take place at Ozone Reserve in Perth, Western Australia on Tuesday, 31st December. Pre-sale tickets are already flying and if you want to ensure your place welcoming 2014 with the some of the best in hip-hop, trap, dubstep, drum & bass, and house, sign up to The Origin email list here and get yourself a pre-sale code.

With more acts to be announced some time in October, this is going to be one NYE party you’re going to want to crash!
