Radiohead Unveil New Single & Video ‘Daydreaming’, New Album Coming Monday Morning

UPDATE 09/05/16: Radiohead’s new album A Moon Shaped Pool has been released. Here’s everything you need to know.

What started as a short video of a Claymation bird has ended in the greatest possible scenario for fans – a surprise album announcement. Radiohead have revealed their ninth studio album will be released 4:00am AEST on Monday 9th May. The news comes hand in hand with a brand new single and video combo from the album, Daydreaming.

Refraining from going full Beyoncé, Radiohead have decided to give us a few days heads up, we assume to get our affairs in order to plan our individual listening experiences. Fans are sure to have wrapped their heads around the first single and slightly twisted video for Burn The Witch, now, they can sink their teeth into Daydreaming.

Unlike its older sibling, the visuals for Daydreaming are a lot more blissed out. Following Tom Yorke as he stumbles through peoples homes, breathtaking landscape and alike. As the title would suggest, the track is very dreamy, existing well and truly in the stratosphere with Yorke’s vocals soaring high atop the soundscape. Oh, and it we mention it’s directed by Paul Thomas Anderson?

Radiohead blind sighted us earlier in the week by removing themselves from social media (ergo ~reality~) only to reappear again with their Claymation efforts.

The currently unnamed 9th album will be released digitally on Monday, with a physical drop happening on Friday, June 17th.
