Richie Sambora, Filter And More Join Soundwave 2014 Lineup

Written by Greg Moskovitch on January 17, 2014

The wait for the third Soundwave 2014 lineup announcement is finally over. Some fans were understandably cynical about the announcement, considering the immense list of bands already confirmed for the festival, but AJ Maddah and co have delivered with Richie Sambora, Filter, I Killed the Prom Queen topping the latest additions.

Industrial stalwarts Filter went to the liberty of self-confirming their place on the lineup this morning, following an increasingly clouded dialogue between the band, Maddah, and the fans. The band finally revealed their place on the roster with a Facebook message accompanied by an Aussie flag.

Then there’s Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, who recently told Music Feeds that he is “beyond psyched” to be playing the festival. Sambora will be heading Down Under with a band that includes Australian guitar goddess Orianthi and his friends from 2012 album Aftermath of the Lowdown.

Hailing from Adelaide, I Killed the Prom Queen are considered supreme beings in the genre of melodic metalcore. They’re currently gearing up to release their third full-length studio album, Beloved and recently premiered their latest video clip Thirty One & Sevens on Music Feeds.

Joining these bands and what is now truly a gargantuan lineup will be Los Angeles melodic hardcore outfit The Ghost Inside, Ohioans The Dangerkids, Melbourne industrialites Darkc3ll, Brits The Defiled, and punk rockers AUTHORITY ZERO. See below for the full lineup and ticketing details.
