Scott Weiland Found Dead On Tour Bus

Former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland has died, at age 48.

“Scott Weiland, best known as the lead singer for Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, passed away in his sleep while on a tour stop in Bloomington, Minnesota, with his band The Wildabouts,” reads a statement on his Facebook page. “At this time we ask that the privacy of Scott’s family be respected.”

TMZ reports that Weiland was found dead on his tour bus near Minnesota, while on a US tour with his band Scott Weiland & the Wildabouts.

Dave Navarro of Jane’s Addiction took to to Twitter writing, “our friend Scott Weiland has died. So gutted, I am thinking of his family tonight”. That tweet has since been deleted.

Velvet Revolver guitarist Dave Kushner tweeted a simple “RIP Scott Weiland”.

He is survived by his wife, Jamie Wachtel, and two young children from a previous relationship.
