Despite being branded by some fans as ‘Supafail’, promoters of Supafest have assured fans the festival will still be going ahead in 2013.
In the week leading up to the festival the promoters announced that P. Diddy and Missy Elliot had been withdrawn from the lineup to “ensure commercial viability”. P Diddy and Missy Elliot then hit out at the promoters with Elliot’s management claiming she hadn’t even been booked on the lineup in the first place. To make things worse, Rick Ross failed to appear on the first day in Brisbane and was spotted via Twitter at a basketball game in Miami. Ross then announced that his failure to appear was due to the promoters failing to pay his fee.
However, promoter John Denison announced that over 30,000 tickets were sold in Sydney and Melbourne and the festival was an overall success, so much so that he has already confirmed that Supafest will be returning in 2013!
@SUPAFEST2012 summary Dramas, fantastic performers, big crowds, a lot of parties, a lot of happy fans!! See u in 2013!!!!!
