UPDATE 13/01/16: Sydney Festival have released the set times and DJ’s for tonight’s David Bowie tribute event. There will be two free DJ sets in Meriton Festival Village between 6.15-7.30pm and 8.45-9.45pm. 2SER’s Music Director, Andrew Khedoori’s will be the man behind the decks, bringing the Bowie love.

ORIGINAL STORY: Sydney Festival has announced a free David Bowie tribute event in honour of the late musician, and it’s taking place in the city’s Hyde Park tomorrow night, Wednesday, 13th January.
Sydney Festival organisers are encouraging Bowie fans to don their best Bowie outfits and limber up for a night of dancing, because a lineup of DJs are in store to pay tribute to the creative icon, who died over the weekend after suffering from cancer for 18 months.
The Sydney Festival David Bowie tribute event will take place in the Meriton Festival Village from 6:15pm, and is open to one and all. For directions to and information about the Meriton Festival Village, head to the Sydney Festival website.
Bowie’s tragic passing has seen a flood of tributes from the music world, vigils from Bowie fans around the world and even a British astronaut sharing his condolences from outer space.
Bowie, who had his first hit with Space Oddity in 1969, released his latest and final album, ★ (pronounced Blackstar), last Friday, on his 69th birthday. Catch a song from that album below, alongside the deets for Sydney Festival’s Bowie tribute.
