Thom Yorke Unveils Atoms For Peace Release Date + Tracklisting

Thom Yorke is a busy, busy man. After wrapping up Radiohead’s Australian tour, it appears that he is jumping back into the studio to put the finishing touches on his side project’s debut album. For those who are unaware, Atoms for Peace consists of Yorke, Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ bassist Flea, percussionist Mauro Refosco, sticksman Joey Waronker, and master of musical production Nigel Godrich.

After releasing their electronically inspired lead single Default, available below, hype began to build around the band after months of unfulfilled promises of album releases and singles. However, these false promises are no more, with the band announcing that they would release Amok come February 25th.

Speaking out about the project, Yorke posted on Radiohead’s website: “We formed to learn to play The Eraser record, if you don’t know that, and discovered a really good energy doing that.. and it fell into this record. I’m still reeling from being on tour for much of the year but we are planning to get together and play etc next year! We’re figuring all that out right now. Atoms is a ongoing and open ended project, where it leads i know not for certain …. which is what is nice about it.”
