Will Ferrell And Chad Smith Form A Supergroup, Cover The Rolling Stones

Though it had been teased as a sequel to May’s epic drum-off between Chad Smith and Will Ferrell, the two decided to put aside their differences at the recent Cancer for College benefit in Seattle. The two even took the stage together with Duff McKagan, Pearl Jam‘s Mike McCready, Brandi Carlile, and more.

Earlier this month, the Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer took to Facebook to urge fans to attend the benefit, which took place over the weekend at the University of Washington, as he planned on settling the score with Ferrell, after the comedian emerged the victor in the pair’s famous drum-off battle.

However, instead of a tense back-and-forth behind respective drum kits, the two joined forces to play Rolling Stones covers as part of the supergroup I Pissed My Pants, which in addition to singer Carlile and former Guns N’ Roses bassist McKagan, also featured Stefan Lessard from Dave Matthews Band.

The performances of Honky Tonk Women and Jumping Jack Flash, which you can check out below, were part of 90 Minutes With Will Ferrell. The benefit event saw the actor sharing behind-the-scenes stories from throughout his career. All proceeds from the show went to the Cancer for College non-profit group.

Readers can relive all the action from Smith and Ferrell’s first skirmish on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon below. The two finally came face-to-face after months of verbal feuding from the two doppelgängers, later setting their sights on Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich as their next opponent.
