Since being kicked off the Vans Warped tour, US Band Slaves have decided to sell their merchandise at discounted prices in order to pay for bills and expenses which they say are a result of being banished from the tour.
Slaves were exiled from the Vans Warped Tour under strange circumstances, with rumours that the band had dumped sewerage out of their bus window, that frontman Jonny Craig had sexually assaulted a female crew member, and that the group had even sold drugs at their merch table.
Slaves have denied the rumours, and in a statement say they now need to find tens of thousands of dollars to pay for tour-related expenses.
“Following getting kicked off Warped Tour, we are now stuck with $10,000 we have to pay for our vehicle (it is under contract that we rent it till the day we say we would), $12,000 worth of merch bills, the expenses of driving from Sacramento to Boston back to sacramento and only playing two shows for Warped,” the band say.
“We have yet to pay any of our crew and none of us can pay rent, car, or phone payments.
“We have posted all our merch from Warped Tour and if you like anything PLEASE grab some and share the store. We have a promo code ‘2FOR20′ that will get you any two shirts for $20.
“We’ve priced the merch as low as we can.”
Vans Warped Tour is yet to make a public statement about Slaves’ exit from the tour, which follows an incident which saw the band’s two guitarists stabbed in an alleged homophobic attack just prior to the Warped tour.
Slaves performed their two Warped Tour dates without guitarist Weston Richmond, but the tour is now continuing without them.
