Suicide Silence have copped a rinsing online after unveiling a new offer which allows fans to pay for the honour of spending a day doing hard labour for their favourite band.
The riff punchers are billing their unscrupulous money-making scheme new Roadie-For-A-Day package as the “experience of a lifetime”, with fans to splash out US$150 (just under AU$200) to enjoy a day’s physical slog while rocking a limited-edition T-shirt and laminate.
Check it:
Get the experience of a lifetime and be a roadie for a day when we roll through your city! Sign up to work alongside our crew, stand side stage during our set, hang out with us during soundcheck and more: https://t.co/ojM2qI8nm0 pic.twitter.com/kM0Y0HgfyU

Needless to say, the band’s pay-us-to-work strategy has been met with raised eyebrows by some of their peers in the music industry:
“Get in the way of all the crew, annoy the venue staff as they’re not insured to have member of the public hanging around during setup, eat the actual crew’s catering (who at this point are barely tolerating you), and get a shitty Gilden T-Shirt”

I have a novel idea that’s essentially the same idea minus all the embarrassment. They’re called… are you ready? Back… Stage… Passes!

While fans also seem to be less-than-impressed:

I hope y’all know this is some absolute bullshit. Let’s take advantage of our fans instead of paying actual crew because we are getting old and irrelevant!!

Get the experience of a lifetime…. by getting in the way of professionals and annoying an entire crew. 100% bad idea pic.twitter.com/ah7JO7lJhZ

Suicide Silence’s controversial new Roadie-For-A-Day scheme comes less than a week after frontman Eddie Hermida responded to allegations of sexual misconduct with a minor.
