Kanye West Reportedly Pulled Out Of Coachella Because They Wouldn’t Build Him A Giant Dome

We’re 13 days into 2019, and Kanye West has once again surpassed our expectations as to just how Kanye he can get. Strap yourself in, because this is a doozy.

ICYMI, it was widely circulated that the rumoured three headliners for Coachella 2019 would be Childish Gambino, Kanye West and Justin Timberlake. But, the latter two didn’t make the final cut, with Tame Impala and Ariana Grande stepping up to the plate instead.

Justin Timberlake reportedly pulled out due to a vocal cord injury, and now we know why Kanye reportedly pulled out.

According to Billboard, Kanye reached out to Coachella to ask them, or demand rather, they build a giant dome for him to perform on the middle of the grounds – just two days before the lineup was announced. Coachella parent company GoldenVoice said that it would be impossible to build the dome in four months, and its placement would require a total re-arranging of the festival as well as the removal of a portion of port-a-loos.

Kanye received this information on the phone while he was on holidays and, naturally, wasn’t too stoked about it. He reportedly responded by saying his time was too important to be talking about port-a-potties. Righto.

He then told GoldenVoice it was their responsibility and hung up the phone. Yikes.

That same day, Ariana Grande was contacted to headline the event to which she obviously accepted.

Time moves fast in the industry, folks.
