Many of us can link a certain album to pivotal moments in our lives. Whether it’s the first record you bought with your own money, the chord you first learnt to play on guitar, the song that soundtracked your first kiss, the album that got you those awkward and painful pubescent years or the one that set off light bulbs in your brain and inspired you to take a big leap of faith into the unknown – music is often the catalyst for change in our lives and can even help shape who we become.

I woke up thinking of you again this morning.
Sometimes I struggle to get you off my mind even though I know I should. My mum tells me I was always into bad boys, maybe that’s why I’m so attracted to you. You’ve just always seemed so dangerous.
Like lighting trapped in a bottle.
There you were, so sweaty and raucous, so brilliant and real, so full of boundless energy. I’ll always be thankful that you were captured on tape in full flight, in your loud and perfect glory. Like a photograph of a star burning brightest just before collapsing into a black hole. Bon was taken from us, ensuring that the spirit of rock and roll would never be the same, but at least we have you, the perfect record of him surrounded by the most perfect band in their most perfect form.
Other live albums I met were boring and slow, sloppy affairs. You were different. Pure confidence and honesty, unadulterated and unapologetic.
I’ll never get to see you in person, no one will, but the world is a better place with you in it, If You Want Blood You’ve Got It (AC/DC Live in ’78).
