Blink-182 bassman Mark Hoppus is auctioning off some classic pieces of Blink gear for a very good cause.
He’s just put his 2002 Fender Custom Pink Plaid Precision Bass guitar under the hammer to raise money for The Trevor Project, which provides life-saving crisis intervention and mental health services to LGBTQ+ youth.
“We call this plaid bass Groundskeeper Willie,” Hoppus explains, adding that the vintage four-string also holds a special place in Blink history.
“I wrote a great deal of the bass riffs for the [2003] untitled album on this bass,” he continues. “It has the sticker of the unicorn on there and the pink Famous Stars and Straps keychain that has been on here for the past decade and a half.”
Mark has also promised to donate an extra $5,000 to the charity out of his own pocket too #bless

It comes on the heels of the release of Blink’s new single ‘Happy Days’ off their forthcoming new album.
