Listen To Pearl Jam’s New Single ‘Dance Of The Clairvoyants’

Last week we learned Pearl Jam have a new album entitled Gigaton on the way, following up 2013’s Lightning Bolt.

Now, the lauded alternative rockers have shared the album’s first single, and it’s relatively new territory for the band. Entitled ‘Dance of the Clairvoyants’, it’s a swaggering, groove-laden track anchored by its bass line and synths.

Talking about the band’s musical evolution on the track, bassist Jeff Ament commented on Twitter that the song was a “perfect storm of experimentation and real collaboration.”

“We’ve opened some new doors creatively and that’s exciting.”

Frontman Eddie Vedder is as charged as ever on the new song, singing “Expecting perfection leaves a lot to ignore / when the past is the present and the future’s no more / When every tomorrow is the same as before.”

Gigaton, the 11th studio album from Pearl Jam, is scheduled for release Friday, 27th March. In a statement, guitarist Mike McCready reflected that “Making this record was a long journey.”

“It was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption.

Collaborating with my bandmates on Gigaton ultimately gave me greater love, awareness and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times.”
